I was responding to metal smith, but anyway:
just post your compile log, then we can help.

There is nothing wrong in the compile log when I just did a quick compile, and it still crashed. But i just went and checked around the map. First thing i've noticed is you need to have the sides and bottom of you water brush have nodraw texture on them, only the top should have the water texture. second is your missing emp_info_params entity, which is required for an empires map. Ill try another compile in a bit here.

and portalboat people probably thought your emp_isles.txt was your resource folder file, which is what i thought.

yep thats all you need to do, those 2 things i said earlier. Well to get it to run anyway, theres alot of other stuff you still need to do.

And is there a way to put light in? I put a light_env in it...
Do I just need a different skybox?

uh, the env_sun places a sun sprite in the sky, it doesn't generate light...

    EPIC FAIL.
    Shows what you know :P

Besides, I got the light to work. Although, I'm getting a weird "patchwork" thing with my minimap.

    OMNI is correct.

You actually have the right entity in the map.

however as you can see, you color is very dark blue, and your sun angle is comming from 45 degrees under the map, see how it says -90 is strait down, your then going to want a -45 degree angle sun in your map.

Yes, fly over 12000 units away from the barracks / cv, but less than 12000 units away from the res rocks....

Alright, you need to get in vent and talk to someone or something. Like an active conversation. This thread won't get you the help you need.

what he need is to read - seriously, all his questions are publically available on the internet.
what you do here is teaching someone who is to lazy to do research on his own.

Works perfectly fine for me so obviously you're doing it wrong.

Not really, it just doesn't work.
If that page is correct there isn't even anything you can do wrong really.

Also i've been reading about it and it would do lots more harm than good to my maps, so no interest anymore.

No, you're doing it wrong, because it works for me, and therefore it does work.

Hahahaa, sometimes i wonder wether you're 2 brothers using the same account, one older intelligent brother and a younger attention seeking child ^^

One day you make a 1000 words post with a lot of reasoning behind it, and the next day your arguments are on the same level as "i'm bigger than you so i'm right"
