Lol, the pot calls all the kettles black. It's not uncommon for a less skilled team to win through greater teamwork, and I find a lot of players who aren't that good usually pull out all the stops when they're faced with a very skilled team, sometimes performing even 100%+ better than they would. Commanding is a test of leadership, but it doesn't outweigh the entire team. A good commander can make the difference between a win and a loss, but a good team will probably win regardless. It could be argued however, that a good commander in the Empires game is not one who necessarily wins, but one who gives the team playing under himself or herself the most enjoyable games.
This was a valid enough of a basis for it to be incorporated in a 20th century majority opinion in a U.S. supreme court case regarding obscenity. So I would daresay that it is a relatively solid basis for a decision...
Even when I dont command every empires game is like sesame street, i teach various players that grenade spam = good, hold space while shotting tank cannon. Every game i has to tell the commander how to give targets or remind him to give targets. When commanding - i have to growl at my peons to leave the safe comfort of our base to conquer land. these are just some of your duties as a commander. stating that aids or cancer is a better commander is fucking bullshit - i seen lots of games where dildos like emcalex spec until they see a comfortable stax game to join and declare victory. i see lots and lots of snot monkeys only playing games that have some degree of assured victory, and then labelling themselves as successful commanders.. remember kids, every one likes e-penis and it only gets bigger the better you fake-as-commander.
