Instead of changing the whole game mechanics with e-build and personal wages and bringing the game into an unknown direction why not optimize and combine the major parts of this game: Teamwork and tanks. And therefore driving in a hatch should be buffed, because it's the most direct kind of teamwork in this game. Suggestions for hatch passenger: Ammo refill for first weapon (SMG, Rifles, RPG) on all tanks (and/or always show the passenger list with health and ammo left) Duck accuracy (except APC) Passenger does not rotate with hatch No damage to yourself from RPG (or at least when in the hatch) Driver will also get armor detection when grenadier with this skill is in the hatch
But how to tell the driver that you are out of ammo? With the current GUI the driver even doesn't notice if his passenger has left. Therefore I added one new point to the OP: "(and/or always show the passenger list with health and ammo left)"
I like all except for the ammo as well. I never understood clearly why the infantry would like not set the HMG on to the hatch and it makes it accurate.
I like it,too. Couldn't the hatch be something that has to be researched once for all tanks (except APC). When building tanks, u then gain the option to equip the hatch instead in the machine gun slot. I know that would need some crazy coding.
I fear BE heavy tanks with HMG-sluts sticking out of the hatches. EDIT: thx trickster, I've read croched and understood prone
how about give the passenger usage of the machine gun? like how some LT have chain guns. also to balance it out.. i think you should do an open/closed hatched system. open hatch = tank gets damaged more and closed hatched = same as now.
or closed hatch = guy in the hatch is protected but can't fire, opened hatch = hes vulnerable to vehicle mg's and other shit.
Nice ideas but don't make it too complicated. There is nobody who can/will change the tank models also it needs much more coding. And such things will never get done in this mod.
well currently the tank head/cannon is independent of the tank, if it were possible to make the hatch independent, then all it would need was a closing animation, but the camera viewpoint stays (kind of like the apc camera viewpoints).
then the closed hatch wouldn't move together with the turret and the base. In my imagination that looks hell stupid.
Crouch accuracy should be in the APC as well, and I'm not so keen on all tanks resupplying, it'll make it too easy to take down buildings (go around in a tank and you're protected from tanks and infantry, whereas an APC can't really fight off a tank. I'll add that as a note.
And the consequence of a nadespam or endless mortar along with ranged or HE cannon will be game breaking when attacking bases.
