I've never mapped for any game before, but I've decided to try and make an Empires map since I thought I have a good idea. I configured Hammer, read some tutorials and started working on my project. Things were going great, I was saving often and after 9 hours I had just finished an important piece of my planned map. Then I had to restart Hammer. After I did, it won't load my save. I get this, followed by this and then Hammer exits. This is a horrible first impression of mapping. Is there any way to retrieve my progress?
I seem to have fixed it myself, using WordPad editing and advice from interlopers.net. I might have followup questions later, once I understand what's going on better, because apparently what's causing the problem is a rogue solid there somewhere that I can't find. But otherwise it LOOKS as if I've lost nothing.
