Exactly what it says in the title. Make each armor have some kind of graphic indication of which armor it is, and also some way to tell if a side has lost all it's armor. I know the mods probably can't change the models for every armor typer on every tank, but it's possible to do this with colored particle effects or some other way. Worst case is that grens with the detect armor ability get a text under the tank's armor image saying what type the armor is. Even if this can't really be done at all anytime soon, I still think the idea should be out here.
Indication of armor type: yes. Indication of armor loss on one side: take Grenadier and Armor Detect. Grens with Armor detect to see armor type: also good. 2/3.
like the tank has more axes on it when it has more armour? fuck showing everyone when a tank has no armour on a side, next you guys will be wanting AWPs and autoaim. no it doesn't, and why simplify a mechanic that already HAS counters (gren skill) and significant vulnerabilities (the damaged tank can at least hope you dont know).
The only time this should ever be added is if the model shows what armour the tank has gone, for example, reactive armour blocks. And showing a side has no armour is a terribad idea.
if you have high polies of all tanks you can "simply" bake new displacement maps and use POM .. if not i suggest going with just repainted textures or this will never see light oh and i think the damage should be shown, the question is if it can be done efficiently and without too much work ...
how about making explosions different? depending on what armor the tank is using.. that way we can have more pretty particles =D.. absorbant would have a dust effect reactive would have a bright but small explosion effect reflective would have a sparkling effect plain would have a large bright explosion composite would have a combination of the above. it would be combined with current weapon explosions to make each explosion "unique" but we need someone who can do particles.. where oh where..
Why would absorbant have a dust effect? Why would reactive have an explosion effect? Why would plain have a large bright explosion? Why would composite have a combination of all? Makes no sense. Go get a rope.
well mr poo poo face, the above effects are abitrary and whoever makes em can do whatever the hell they want. and why not sparkle or dusty or explosion?
Because armor does not explode when a shell hits it, it also does not spawn dust. I didn't say anything against the sparkles derp. That actually makes sense.
empires doesnt have to make sense ;P i thought we established that a long time ago.. rainbows and unicorns can come out of the armor for all i care =P or maybe even cat girls
alucard that is somewhat dumb. The munitions used should define the explosion. And yes, Empires has to make sense. You can't just say "oh every gameplay mechanic the devs pulled out of their ass". Great job confusing players.
thats not true in the case of explosive reactive armor. though i think we have the electric version in empires since its in electrical engineering -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reactive_armor
Am I the only one who thinks Sprayer should be punished for telling someone to kill themself? Has anyone else even noticed?
