If any 'Muricans need a GPU for 1080p gaming, then pull out your goddamn credit cards. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150656 $174.99 -10% EMCXRVS26-$25 Rebate$132.49 + FS We aren't getting new GPUs this year because TSMC sucks ballz. This will stay relevant for at least another year. And getting Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider and FC3: Blood Dragon isn't half bad either.
Constantly bitched about driver issues because I had an ATI GPU 6 years ago that sucked. Got an ATI GPU in my laptop thinking that by now they've probably fixed it. I have now returned to bitching about ATI (or AMD, whatever) drivers.
Oh it was better for me. It turned out that the current version of CCC didn't support my GPU because it was too new, but the beta wasn't compatible. Oh yeah, and it automatically starts every game in power saving mode and runs it on my integrated motherboard graphics if it's the first boot. Like it can't notice that it's using fucking 100% of everything.
ATI cards used to give <10 fps in Wurm Online and you still can only mount one game at a time to Obsidian Conflict if you want to avoid it breaking.
Its a good price but im going with Nvidia due to driver stability, performance, I already have a Nvidia card so now I can link them, oh and its its the boss
I found this deal yesterday. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4501133 I am picking this up sometime during the week before the sale expires.
You forgot to mention its name: XFX Double D FX-785A-ZDF4 Radeon HD 7850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card. According to rumors, AMD is apparently coming out with at least one chip in the Volcanic Islands lineup at around the end of this year. It's not clear whether they'll be on 28 nm or 20 nm. Given that TSMC's going for volume 20 nm in 2014, I'd be hesitant to bet on 20 nm (unless it gets delayed). It's not like NVIDIA's going to make a big performance jump until Maxwell next year anyway.
Galaxy GeForce GTX 660 Ti GC 66NPH7DV6VXZ Video Card - 2GB, GDDR5, PCI-Express 3.0(x16), 2x Dual-link DVI, 1x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort, DirectX 11, SLI Ready, Overclocked fer $259.99 TI = 384 extra cuda cores. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3708571&CatId=7387 I might just buy it today. Video card has blanked out on me 10 times already in the last hour. pissing me off to no end.
I'm happy with my 7870 XT. But i too have heard many complaints from friends with AMD graphics on laptops. Especially APUs.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/PNY-Geoforc...947?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item27d30dbedb PNY 660 TI currently at $175 with 1d 14h left. Of course this model number(VCGGTX660TXPB) is discontinued for unknown reasons. <-- that part makes me not go for it.
I like AMD CPUs (especially because consoles stalled increase in hw requirements) but hate every AMD/Ati graphics related thing even if it's cheaper for the same performance. Ati hasn't managed to release proper drivers for Linux after all this time.
And seriously, what with this emo shit about GPUs? Just buy new GPU once 4x faster comes out, if you have more money then once 2x faster comes out.
Or if you're in that "tweener" period where the current stuff is more than twice as good as what you've got, but not quite four times as good, then you wait for a deal. Coincidentally, most GPU buyers fall into that category and deals matter to them.
I upgraded for BF3. Complete waste of time. Just like when I bought my PS3 just to play GTA4. Eventually I felt less regret but for a while I was pissed at myself for spending so much cash on shitty games.
