I guess I was a little emotionally vulnerable when I made thaa this thread and I forgot to explain RSS.

Google Reader was Google's RSS reader.

An RSS reader aggregates RSS feeds together for easy news consumption.

An RSS feed is created by a news site. It is updated with aall of the stories from any given news site. Some news sites have multiple RSS feeds for multiple kinds of news.

RSS is cool because it lets you check all of the news sources that you care about all at once.

Google Reader was an especially cool RSS reader because it was based in the cloud and it was accessed through a website or mobile app. It synced everything across all platforms and was absurdly easy to use once you subscribed to your feeds.

RSS still exists. Pop into just about any news site and it's not hard to find its RSS feeds.

Sounds like a tool for peasants who can't handle all the tabs open at one time.

I used to say that. One of my friends told me I would love it if I tried it.

Now, I get to tell you that. Full circle, motherfuckers.

Yes, it has an RSS reader built in. But then you're tired to one browser on one computer with no backup.

As I only have one computer and only use one browser on it, that would not be an issue for me.
