Suggestion: Make snow act like normal terrain. It feels like you're skating or floating on the snow in Glycencity or walking on plain ice and trying to glide on it whenever you "stop" walking. Why is it so? Usually, I don't care of realism, but I've walked on snow for my whole life and it feels weird that in game it's like skating on ice. Though, I don't care if it gets fixed or not, it still feels stupid.
Yeah, no way to fix maps without the mappers original, pre-compile files. Is Glycen a Empires' developer's map, BTW?
imagine that it snowed, was ploughed, then it rained and froze over night. In other words, pretend you are in Michigan. god I miss ice skiing (no joke >_>)
Ask Pyro to melt the snow away. I don't see the slipping much of a problem. Imagine you are on a surf map in CS.
Friction is defined in the VMT, what I don't know is whether it is baked into the map at compile time, never bothered to investigate, if it isn't you should be able to change it by editing the VMT on the server. I suspect, however, that it is.
Easy enough to fix WITHOUT editing the map. Just create a script where if the map name is equalto emp_glycencity, then sv_friction 5 or something. (4=normal). If any servers wants to bother download es_Tools, then I can do an eventscripts script. Add me on Steam "killweiser187" if you want to do so.
