Glycen City Woes

It appears I have the wrong version of this map(in RC17, current version) so if anyone can point me to a proper download, I would gladly give them props.

This Should be a working version of Glycen city, as i've played it yesterday.

 

i got an error saying "the version of streets of fire differs from the server"

then i went and reinstalled the patch, and i could connect while it was still the same server.

I think it's because steam was running when i installed it the first time. might have been what happened to you.

 

thats why it says to restart steam when you launch the installer!

 

Actually doesn't it say to restart steam AFTER you have installed it?

 

That's what he meant, it says you need to restart Steam after installing it.

 

Actually it says close steam before installing.

 

Just make sure the Steam isn't running when you install it. :p

 

No Empires for me:

Steam was most definitely disabled on every occasion that I installed a new RC, and every RC was installed in order. I have a feeling it has something to do with that "sv_pure" variable.

 

sv_pure = 0 means it's turned off. Is your emp_urbanchaos of size 42,463,756?

 

I have the exact same problem with my glycen city it says it differs from the server.

I haven't modified anything about my install, it's all totally stock RC17.

 

Here is my copy of urban chaos, try playing with it.
Make a backup of your old one, just in case it's needed.

 

Thank you solo. The fact that experienced players are having these problems makes me fear that it will turn new players away, if the source can't be tracked down.

 

The source is called not installing every RC.

 

In my instance at least, I can assure you that is not the case. I have installed everything from 7-17, in order, and I was able to play urbanchaos without any problems at least as late as RC15. Whether it's a problem with the installer or something else, I followed the procedure to the letter, and it didn't work for me. I just thought that that was something worth reporting.

 

can you reupload glycen city? the download is corrupt

...also, I've downloaded every single fucking version since 1.0, in that order. my map does not work, not because I missed a version, but because of some retarded reason I don't know of.
