    QFT

Those links have been active for a long time, they wouldn't ALL suddenly get a virus.

It's really weird that the Trojan always comes up whenever I download the Empires mod. Why could this be?

    What antivirus do you have?

Is it just the main installer, or the patches too?

Is it ONLY Empiresmod, or do other files prompt you with virus warnings as well?

    Download and install Avast

Then go offline and run a full virus scan. It sounds like you have a virus already on your computer that is infecting your Empires download with a trojan.

On a side note, it is possible that your Antivirus wrongly detects a Trojan (false positive). The solution is the same as what the other posters said: download another tool and scan (again).

Try this. Its free for the home edition and it works. I use the whole internet security package(not free) on my own pc.

I suspect it's internet explorer malware, inserting the virus dynamically into any executable he downloads

I have BitDefender, It's a good Virus Scanner. Gets rid of anything. Whenever the Trojan pops up it says it blocks it. Also did a Virus scan, only threats where cookies, no Trojan.

It's just the Main Installer. The patches are fine. No other files prompt with a virus when Im downloading something. This is very odd.

I think my virus scanner just think it's virus. Whenever I download any Empires mod client a prompt pops up saying "Trojan.Generic". Should I just disable my virus scanner and download it?

No you should use another virus scanner and google whether your scanner often reports false positives, as I suggested several days ago.
