    Aside from the explosions in the background, almost all (or at least all as far as I can remember) westwood produced command and conquours had some sort of dude staring into the camra like that. I still think it's a good design.

    although actually, although it's a far supirior picture, I kinda prefered the old one for a loading screen. it just seemed more... loady.

    I'm going to have to go with the fully desaturated one. If you made the second pic a little less bright (especially the guy, he's way too bright; the fact that he has any color at all alone will draw enough attention to him) I would be willing to say that it was the better one.

    im with dumpsterfox on this, either the all B&W one, or darken the other one so the B&W part is as dark as the other one.

    I prefer the first one, more dramatic.

    The second one seems to give some "My name is *blank* and this is my story" theme, doesn't work :(

    The first one is pretty good, actually I think it could be a good background for the Empires main menu screen. As for the second picture, it reminds me of book cover. Possibly a good cover for DonMegel's Empires story.
