As some of you may know its the festival season in the UK. Just wondered if any of you guys and gals are going to any? Personally i'm off to Global Gathering at the end of July Thats all, Good mates, good tunes, good times!
In Toronto, It was just the "Pride Parade" Personaly am looking foward to "Caribana" a celebration of African American culture... For me... Mostly the food :D
The only good festivals around here is the Winter Music Conference & Ultra Fest but that only comes around March.
Only one hour ago i can home from graspop metal meeting. http://www.graspop.be/pages/extra/bands.php line up was amazing. Some bands really surprised me. - Ozzy osbourne moves like on tv, but his brains and voice seem to be working excellent. - Papa roach was actually rather good - Joe satriani was ... well what do you expect ... he's awesome - Blind guardian was awesome as well - Slayer performed well - Iron maiden wasn't nearly as old (live) as some people seem to think - Stone sour did very well - Aerosmith was fun to watch, because Tyler was incredibly happy. He kept smiling. - Heaven and hell (Black Sabbath + Dio !!) was AWESOME. btw, dio is a very, very small guy. - Korn performed very good as well, but the singer (forgot his name) had to use some medical thingy in order to get some extra oxygen (due to sopme sort of blood desease or something) - Within temptation was heavier then i anticipated ... which is good And i've seen about 15 other bands as well, some good, some less good. Offcourse i wasn't able to see all of them, there were more than 70 bands. I'm broke now though. And my body hurts, especially my back !
4th of July has kinda lost it around here since 9/11, before then we use to start bonfires with duds & action figures, blow up beer bottles by sticking firecrackers upside down in them, & using a car we wrecked (it was abandoned there for two years before we started taking shopping carts through the windshield & golf clubs to the side windows & doors, it was eventually towed away five years later, so literally that car was there for seven years) as a launch pad for most of our rockets. Good times... Nowadays it's kinda silent here on the 4th though it's steadly getting louder, but there are still no bon fires...
i was thinking about going to leeds festival this year with some friends but that all went downhill, we might be going next year though..
We have a big Canada Day Celebration coming up this weekend (July 1st) at my School There's other stuff too, like V-Fest and Edge-fest and lots of other stuff that sounds cool and I'll never actually go to
I've had the same experience. I dunno if it's just the fact that I'm older or that there doesn't seem to be much to celebrate/blow up, but it just doesn't feel like it used to. I've noticed that a lot of people who used to celebrate it don't do so to the same extent anymore. Sorry, Lobstah.
