Definetly Goldeneye for starters. Also, there was this AMAZING game for super nintendo where you drove robots and fought against friends in sidescroller mode, and you could get out of your robot, fly around in a jetpack and find more robots to pilot. I think it was called metal warriors or something OMG. My friends and I loved that game to death. I also got addicted to rollercoaster tycoon and starcraft at about the same time. At like 8 years old my friend set up a LAN in his basement for starcraft :D That's pretty much it, besides some gameboy games, because I actually spent most of my time outdoors :)

Well almost all my favourites have been mentioned. One of the first games I ever played was F-19 Flight Simulator designed almost solely by Sid Meier. Stunning flight simulator. It had 3D graphics in 1988 before FPSs had gotten past scrolling sprites.

Civilisation has already been mentioned. Obviously the best game of all time.

Half life because it really got me started on decent FPSs, I'd played doom countless times before but nothing like half life ever before. Deus Ex followed shortly afterwards. I'm still not sure which is better in my books. Probably Half life because I will never ever forget seeing that soldier shoot the scientist. God, I just freaked the fuck out. I had to run out and let him shoot at me before I believed that the 'cavalry' were bad guys.

Let's see, another few of the games mentioned here. I could pick from any of the lists here already. Starcraft of course, stunning game. Got it from a mate around 99/00 I think. Alpha Centauri soon after. Sim city 2000 was a fantastic experiment for £10 just to see what this whole sim city craze was like before 3000 came out.

C&C but sadly I never did really play it as much as it deserved early on. I'm currently working my way through the entire decade pack at the moment though.

Some great flight sims, Falcon 4/Janes WW2 fighters/Janes USAF. Battle of Britain way back around 92/93 was a fantastic game. Flight simulator 4.0, designable aircraft! I used to love making weirdass planes and seeing if they flew. They need that in flight sims these days.

Countless others that I can't really remember right now. I have to mention Halo and Halo 2 just for the massive amount of hours spent 2 or 3 years ago with friends getting.. herbally influenced playing till late late at night.

Starcraft + Brood War -Best games there ever were :D

Diablo II - Killed quite a few hours

Warcraft II+III - I rember playing the old warcraft with my brother

Half-Life - Best FPS there ever was, got me into FPS and it was just OMG! in its time. The second one was a bit of a let down...

CHRONO TRIGGER - I CAN'T BELIVE ALL OF YOU FORGOT THIS

Heroes II+III - I also played this one with my brother, I had this installed at home for a long while but I never got how to play it, then I saw a dude play it at an internet cafe and after that me and my brother were hooked...

-the GTA's except SA I really didn't like the whole gansta/in da hood thing and jesus the swearing, they cuss more then drunk sailors...

Parkan - its an old russian game a space sim, where you could build colonies and such, story so confusing a guy with a Ph.D would have some trouble figuring it out

Riddick EFBB - Personaly I was so surprized that a game based of a movie could be this good, before this I hated Vin Diezel, but after playing this and learning that he was part of the dev process (As limited as that was) this guys is cool.

    C&C Red Alert 2 - Good times

Dungeon Siege + Exp - Really liked the first one for some reason...

Darwinia - A really good game that I enjoyed, was just so unique

Definitly "Duke Nukem 3D" I played that game for three years solid without getting bored. And another four, on and off. Other than that? Hmm lets see there was (Commander Keen, Doom 1&2, Super Mario, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, and far too many more to list.)

OMG Duke Nukem ftw!!! I loved playing co-op with buddies. We didn't even know what setting friendly fire should be on so you couldn't shoot your buddy DOH! We just guessed as to whether it should be ON or OFF.
