Favorite Classic Map, revisited!

There are lots of these polls hiding in the forum, but since so much has changed (you know what I'm talking about) I figured I'd start another one for the hell of it. Simply put, which classic map is your favorite? Badlands and Gauntlet are out of the official rotation so i purposely didn't include them. Also, quite frankly, I hate them.

Someone else can make a poll for the non-classic maps... I'm too lazy.



My favorite remains duststorm, but cyclopean is fun too.

canyon is a good one.. but personally i've always loved slaughterd.. some of the best games ive played have been on that map... i know alot of people are tierd of it but thats only because after a map crashes it goes to it

i haven't played helios. I don't even know what you're talking about, but to any admins that read this, feel free to add an "other" choice, or a badlands and gauntlet choice, or whatever.

 

I voted mvalley, but it's tied between that and duststorm. I just love the openness of those maps, they have many more diverse strategies available.

 

yeah i voted dust storm... the open maps are something that empires is and always has been way ahead of all other mods...


any mappers going to make any more open maps like that?

 

Emp_canyon. Getting a chokepoint or losing one makes or breaks the round, which I find incredibly fun.

 

Canyon may be fun but I prefer duststorm. No turret farming at all or defending choke points. Mvalley is much worse because you have to several hundreds of meters to find a ramp to higher/lower level. (maybe it will be good for aircraft).

I now really love duststorm too, and it feels like I havne't played Isle in forever (well i haven't played in forever)

 

Isle is amazing in principle, and i've had some amazing amazing games on it, but i lost interest after every single game had rocket sniping, which is about as fun for each team as being bitten in the nuts by a flaming rat.

 

I think the expression you are looking for is "as fun as a Falcon Punch to the crotch". That needs to be used more :D

emp_mvalley, because it's one of the best maps for early tank battles.

 

I voted canyon, I like the blend of openness and chokepoints.

 

Canyon would be alot more fun with cave networks in the middle rock.

Could make for alternative routes when all else is walled off. Maybe one or two for vehicles too.
