I have this keyboard that has some extra keys on the top (Back Forward, Play Pause Volume up/down)

As I was playing, I tried to turn the volume up, and every time I do that, it takes me to the weapon select menu. If I try to turn it down, it sends me to the squad menu.

I have a similar keyboard. But it doesn't do that. What kind of keyboard is it?

Did you have to install any software that enables those keys, or does it work with a standard Windows/Microsoft driver?

I had an extra keys keyboard, and it worked ok.

I have a keyboard that does that. It's a plug and play keyboard if it's like mine. My sound + key does the same as the 'f' button in games, and my sound - key does the same as 'tab' I think. It's really random.

Let me just point out that this is in many games, not just Empires. it may be a valve thing or a Windows thing.

the extra keys are mapped as fc<number> and f0<number> in "linux".. might be the "code" they send out to the "world"
