Escort Unity

    A prominent BE senator has been trapped inside a BE city by rapidly advancing NF forces. Like all high ranking Senators, this one was escorted by a detachment of the famed Brenodi Six Infantry Division (refer to Story forum). This detachment as well as what remains of the city garrison, must get the Senator out of the city or die trying.

    At the beginning of the round, the BE forces are held up in the government compound while NF forces start on the city edge. The senator will be an NPC hiding in the building. When the BE is ready for him to follow they hit a button to initiate a quick BE team vote to release him or not. Once out, the senator can be joined to a squad and will follow orders like other squad members. The Senator has a marker over his head to denote his special status that can be seen at all times for the BE team and only within a certain range of the NF team.

    BE has a set amount of equipment that can be spawned. At various points through out the city there are Arms Depots that the BE can liberate to add more vehicles to their stocks. The NF, meanwhile, only have infantry and transport vehicles (they can earn an APC through capturing various points). There are several routs the BE can take to get out of the city but they come together at two or three choke points before branching out again.

    I need building models. Buildings can utilize LODs in Unity so you can make a higher poly version that is seen at close range and a lower poly version at further range. Modular models would be great so that we can stretch our assets further. Any kind of building can be used, apartment buildings, stores, government buildings, industrial, some sort of style as Escort Source. I can use building facades that can not be entered or full buildings with rooms and hallways. Basically any level of completion would be helpful, textures/no textures, big/small, park bench/high-rise hotel, etc.

    I am happy seeing that its on par with more expense game engines. My biggest fear was that no matter how much work we put into it was still going to look like crap but I don't think that is the case now.

    As for the Escort map, I can sketch out the city using cubes for the buildings and replace those with better models as they come available. Unity makes it really easy to "sketch out" an idea for a map, or game mode, or a model. We could play test the entire map before the first building is complete. Its awesome.

    I'm not sure how well the church would fit in but the hotel is fantastic. Thank you.

    Yeah like I said it would need its own area, my town for example has a big ruined monastery in the middle of it, it's just in a nice walled off park in the middle of the town.

    I think an area like that would be quite cool from a gameplay perspective, although obviously it's harder to make it fit visually.

    I also have a japanese castle, but that's probably even less practical than the church.

    That hotel is awesome indeed. Love it.

    I threw together some crap windowed concrete cubes. UV is seriously wasteful, texturing quite bad. But they should be modular enough for you. Perhaps too much so. :)

    Anyway, here they are if you want em. PW is "scunt".

    I've got a few old buildings that I've made through the year, I can't guarantee the quality of all of them, some of them aren't even unwrapped but you're welcome to them, also I think I forgot to post the battleship model as well, let me know what buildings you want and if you still want the battleship and I'll try and find the latest versions of them all and zip them up and send them to you.

    First off, a building that was going to be used as a building connecting two server sectors, the huge gates on either end are designed to raise up high enough to let vehicles through. I think this ones unwrapped but I just used basic textures on it I. I'll have to have a look and see what I can pull together for it.

    This ones a rather nice square 3 floor residential style building, all unwrapped with unique textures with inbuilt AO. No spec or normal maps.

    This is a two floor house designed to be able to be entered but the door at the front would have to be separated or removed. Not unwrapped or textured or with much detail inside apart from the stairwell.

    This is a building made entirely of segmented parts apart from the base so it can be re-designed into anything you want or separate buildings entirely. This is unwrapped but again just crappy textures I think.

    This ones my favourite model but unfortunately it's not unwrapped, the inside bottom floor was originally designed to be enterable but there's no details in there, I guess props can be placed inside by the mapper. It's 4169 polys if you're worried about the count.

    Just let me know which ones you want and I'll bundle up what I can. You can use the watertower too when it's done but it's taking me a while to get it unwrapped and textured. I just don't have much time which also means if you want to do more work to the models above you'll have to find someone else to work on them :p

    Just a thought: Does Unity eat reflectionmaps? I know the free version can't be made to do full world reflections. But simple cubemap skybox reflections is possible, yes?

    It's nothing special, just a blend file with a simple building façade and some material jiggery pokery.

    Judging buy this, it should be a simple enough setup in Unity as well.

    Full world reflections for something as simple as that would be a little overkill, I'd say. But it's your puppy, so if you want to make Crysis 4 in Unity go ahead! :D
