Ok, I has 2 engie skills that I really want to use, but I find are inconsistent at best.

Revive: Ok, so I have a full calculator, the guy just died... I walk to where his body is AND also where died... crouch, and hold down fire...

Nothin. I don't think I've ever been able to successfully revive someone ever... what am I doing wrong?

Turret Upgrade: This one works... sometimes... Does the turret have to have been active for a certain ammt of time or something? Sometimes, I can do it right after i finish building it... sometimes, I can't the come back a few minutes later and can do it.

you need to get in close range with corpse to rev, also check if u ACCEPTED your skill at rax/armory/flag.

you can upg turret if your team have 35 res

... OH... skills can only be changed at Rax/arm/spawn?!?

I thought they were on-the-fly type things...

awesome, that makes so much more sense now, since I've been swapping upgrades, in mid-battle...

    thanks

You need at least 50% of your ammo bar to revive someone.

Yeah, I know about the ammo-bar...

it was definitely the switching out abilities that I was clueless about... I fixed it, thanks

Also, point your calculator at where the person died, don't chase the ragdoll that might have gotten blown sky high, since ragdoll is client side and server only register where the person died (I think)

Many people don't know about the towers on slaughtered too. It's a great place to make people think there's 3 different people up there by switching class to rifleman/scout/engie/gren.

Thats so not true.. It doesn't matter if the ragdoll was blown across the whole map.. it still works when you try to rev it..
I think the code works partly clientside btw...

I've actually had revive work only on the ragdoll, and sometimes it will work only on the spot, it might depend on the server, yea

Yea, as long as you have a barracks, armory, a flag point, or just change it around in between deaths, and remember to hit accept, it will reset your class with your new skills,

As an engineer, reseting the class in the buildings or on a flag takes away all your calculator energy, (respawn doesnt)

But, only if you're not a grenadier, reseting a class in a building or on a flag actually instantaneously reloads your gun with a full clip, so you dont have to waste time reloading, grenadiers still have to reload the rpg/mortar though, but you'll start out with the minimum number of grenades again, if you had a full amount

And Z10000M stole my scardybob quote!!, ah well, its a good quote.

what i do is i choose my skill the moment i lvl up and just remember that it doesnt take effect until next respawn/classchange.

if you lvl up, choose skill, die then get revived does the new skill take effect?

It depends on the soldiers religious background, if they believe in reincarnation there soul mostly tries to get away from the body so that engineer cannot revive him and he can be reincarnated at the barracks as soon as possible, if you have a Christian the soul mostly just stays floating around on the ground waiting for a Samaritan to be dedicated enough to rez him and atheists just tend to have there awareness stay in there bodies until modern medical science delivers salvation

I revived lots of people, its the source engines fault for displaying ragdolls/bodys in different spots for everyone. that part is definantly client side. like I killed someone in CS:S the other day, he said: "LOL MY FACE HIT THAT CORNER!" and I saw him just fall flat on his face, this happens in all source based mods/games, but I have not tried for TF2 yet.

I wonder does 2 engys, one at the dead spot, and another at the ragdoll, simultaneously revive?

    I NOW HAVE DUAL AWARENESS!
