i want to see this game move towards a sort of future-fantastic realism where the combat is brutal and favors an aggressive approach where dust, smoke and shrapnel create an atmosphere saturated with chaos and terror where the modern warrior can take aim at an obscured enemy with the aid of hud optics and support from the commander. now this isn't another pleading cry to put commander targets back in, but i believe that we need more mark up on the hud. targets in empires fit naturally with the setting of radars, research, plasma cannons, rail guns and command vehicles. that players would have to fight blindly in a world atmosphere of high tech and sophistication simply doesnt feel right. the game disconnects at this point and feels more and more like a drill and less like war. examples of saturated huds: now i dont want to go and suggest ways to implement this just yet. i do think we're headed in the right direction with more graphic effects and a decent effort toward fashioning weapon scripts and balance in a way that rewards aggressive gameplay above a more defensive turtling approach. i just want to bump the fact that empires should remember that wallhax added a certain atmosphere to the game that now is missing.
Well we have primitive technology of augmented reality, so I guess since this game is in the future we can just say the wallhacks are just part of the augmented reality stuffs.
zenarion is an alt of MOOtant's btw. Okay, not really, but zenarion's statement was uncannily like msieradzki.
I'm not quite sure what this thread is about, but since it contains a picture of Dystopias and Metroids Huds it reminded me how bad I want Scaleform Gfx in empires. That stuff is rad.
hmmm dystopia was ok. but i didnt really know how to play the game, espsecially that hacking minigame.
