Empires PUG project

Is anyone here interested in helping with the Empires PUG project? Right now Dizzyone and I are heading it up

We are creating software where you can enlist in NF or BE and have weekly matches. An online map of controlled territories (e.g. Glycen, Bren, Ronan) will exist. The software is almost done, but we need forum moderators.

PLEASE NOTE: Forum moderators won't get to participate in the matches because they will have access to both BE and NF inside information.

 

And what is expected of moderators?

 

If you want to help but would still like to participate, please wait for the official "enlistment" post we make and then enlist in either NF or BE. I then ask that you apply to be one of the leaders of the faction so you can help shape its future on the battlefield.

@Shinzon: Forum Moderators will run NF / BE leader elections and moderate the public portion of the forums. They also will have say in the future direction of the PUG.

 

I'd like to help on the side of leadership. I know a shitload of tactics from alll the clans I've been in, and from my own experience (great at tactics, shit at everything else).

 

Great. Make sure to nominate yourself when NF / BE leader elections take place. There will be a council of leaders for each faction.

 

I could try my hand at being a mod.

IMO only 2-3 people need moderator on forums.

What does being a leader actually entail? Like, are you one of the commanders?

Is this just placing existing maps on... a map, or are there new ones being made?

will the PUG's be all american/europe or will they be picked at a certain time that both can join in?

 

NF and BE leaders can play in matches, but they have the additional responsibility of organizing their team. They decide who actually plays in the matches and what tactics should be used.

As for maps, we may use some custom ones but only if they VERY COMPLETE and tested to be WELL BALANCED.

@Pete: There will be 1 PUG per week that is at a time good for both US and Europe. Likely on a Saturday.

And honestly we shouldn't need more than 3 mods, but too many wont hurt anything.

When will we find out or choose who the leaders will be? And will each faction have a fourm to discuss tactics and what not?

I believe Evan has said that next week should be sign ups. And then once everyone has signed up, they will vote on the leaders. And yes, there will be forums, possibly Ventrilo servers, Steam groups, et cetera.
