Empires 1.71 Beta Full Install

[UNOFFICIAL] Empires 1.071 Beta Full Install

I've read a number of complaints about the lack of a full install that have convinced me to compile one for Empires 1.071, and all future versions.

For those of you that have grown to hate me and may not trust me, its merely all the current installers required to play, installed to a folder on my desktop, and then compressed. It is fully functional, I have tested it before uploading it, and have tested a copy I downloaded from the mirror.

To install: This extracts a pre-existing Empires folder, so it will overwrite any existing Empires installation. Just point it to you SourceMods folder, hit next, and it will do the rest its self.

If you can't install a mod like this, you shouldn't be playing.
Only the greatest of idiots have a problem that they can't fix by read reading the download instructions, and those idiots I never want to play with.

 

I made this because some people said there should be a full install. This is nothing to do with difficulty installing. This is a faster way to do it. It is a smaller overall download, and saves time by making it one single install. You haven't even downloaded it or tried it, so don't flame it yet.

 

I didn't flame the package, I'm flaming the people who need the package.

No, I agree with a smaller package, I do like this.
I just find it funny when people can't installing this, and it keeps them out.
Thats good to keep them out.
Sad that they will now be able to join though.

 

Soon I may be changing the link, I just remembered download.com, and found a good number of installer makers, then I can port over the EULA details and such, and add the readme link at the end.

It sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Krenzo is not willing to endorse a custom installer by a third party. It is feasible that he doesn't have the time to check its contents to make sure it has up to date code, and is free of defects and viruses. If he endorses the package, and it turns out that it destroys your computer after 20 days, he would be held responsible and his credibilty would be lost.

 

Check who's saying it, Onea - Duke is the administrator of the forums. It was meant in jest, and to evoke "OMG!1!" reactions. :p
