    I'm writing here so that maybe all server owners will read it:

    Please enable or increase spawn protection to at least 3 seconds.

    I just wanted to show Empires to a friend. But after he died certain times right after spawn he just mentioned that this is the most stupid game he ever played. :(

    And low spawn protection because Trickster wants his melee kills in district in no argument. ;)

    Spawn protection means several seconds of god mode for that player. A good player can get out of an apc and just kill everything in that time. Spawn protection did really fuck escort up. Okay escort is probably not a target for balancing, but it also makes defending raxes (too) easy.

    Spawn protection should do nothing more than stop you spawning onto a mine. It's not a case of melee whoring, because empires isn't CSS. You respawn in 10 seconds (by default, less on some (VIPER I think) servers), and in that time, you can easily combat whatever is against you. If this was a game where you had to wait a while to respawn, then sure, but it's 10 or less seconds. If you can't wait that long anyway, then maybe empires isn't for you, because the amount of time you spend holding mouse1/E at a building, waiting for a bar to fill up, is vastly longer than how long you spend waiting to spawn.

    Higher spawn protection inside a barracks would be nice. Just think of the frustration especially of new players. Maybe take TF2 as example. There you even have a complete save spawn area.

    These only exist in games with static spawn areas. If we edited the other maps so that you cannot shoot into them and cannot access them, it might help solve the issue, but with shifting territories, it starts the strategy of waiting in spawn until everyone is gone then retaking a flag or something.

    The only other alternate solution is to have a kill box on a protected spawn to kill players when a team has captured your flag.

    Spawn protection for APC is always 0. For barracks minimum protection duration is 3s (in 2.26 :P).

    problem with having a completely safe spawn area is the fact that spawn areas in Empires can be anywhere, and destroying a enemy spawn point is a primary focus of a fight. if you can repair the rax while being invincible, the game would become a broken rax spam fest very quick.

    APCs never have spawn protection.
