also you could use nems batch compiler. its just a bit tricky to set it up correctly the first time, but very hand for slow computers, it lets you monitor the compile so you can tell if it crashed or not. i remember a full compile taking about 8-12h on my old cpu, now its about 30mins max (could certainly be longer if you aim for it).
ugh i just want to get this beta1 out. no clue if ref problem is fixed or the weird problem that flasche ran into when he compiled it awhile ago (snow textures were completely white with no bloom, even when i had never touched the environment settings)

ok so apparently my map has a name too similar to an existing map (railroad) that players are confused as to which is which. this lead to my map being removed, so i decided to change the map name to remove any confusion with existing maps. say hello to: emp_ballast now all confusion can be removed! Download (Dropbox) Beta 3 ------ New name.
So why is it named _ballast? I'd joke how it would be a 5th wheel of the map cycle, but thats not _cg.
