emp_fastestmap_v3 If you have ever played starcraft or warcraft (1-3) you would probably have played this gametype before. its called a fastest possible map gametype. Basically, you get resources fast, so you can build more units faster. therefore more action, less waiting. I expect some possible flaming... so I dont care. Well although it is very simple, I do like it. It would definitly deliver the fastest pace action. It should be a good break from the slower, large maps every once in a while. Although it's likely only going to be played on the map testserver. It's good to have another mapper here in the Empire's community. So let me to be the first to say welcome.
thank you. I will be making more complex maps in the future, i just wanted to make a simple map since most of the tutorials i have done are missing a key element in making an empires map so it crashes while loading up. but, I figured out what the tutorials were missing, so the map does work.
its needs cover, just drop in some walls or whatever, right now there is no point in playing this, rather play emp_money tbh
its good for a first empires map to test your skills. cant wait till you start pumping out real maps.
I got a suggestion,, make a map that makes arty impossible to use(if thats possible),, roofs or somthing,, cause i can just see the arty spam now on this map
She is refering to the fact that it is very easy to defend and block off the enemy. Also it does not offer more than one path to attack from. True these elements will bennifit the future maps greatly. I'm not one criticise map makers who are making their first map. (God knows it looks better than my first attempt
It's an attempt at least. Some points to consider when you're creating maps in the future: - Try some more inspired lighting, add a little colour in their or something. - Think about layout. Despite the added cover, this map has direct line-of-sight to the enemy base. This screams arty and rocket abuse. - Align textures to the surfaces they are on. The cliff texture you are using should fit from top to bottom without repeating. - Think about adding some kind of boundary to the ends of the level. Don't get me wrong, it's a good attempt. Looking forward to more maps in the future!
actually broccoli, I intentionally made the cliff texture repeat because i dont like having to streatch textures out too much.
erm ya. I just found a bug with my displacements and apparently you can drive through them in any vehicle.... anyone know how to fix this?
RELEASE THE MAP NOW I WANT TO EXPLOIT WITH TANK IN THE WALL!!! nice map. We Need water... Also you can change the texture of the sky box so it makes the map look like its going on forever.
