We were playing emp_escort and it wasn't possible for BE to capture the first flag. After neutrealizing it the bar was only getting to 90% according to other players. So I wanted to record a demo. But when I entered "record demofile" in the console instead of getting the confirmation "Recording to demofile.dem..." the game started to bug. The console was getting spammed by this: Netchannel: failed processing message svc_UpdateStringTable. Fragment transmission aborted at 59/59. (though numbers changed it was always the same number) I wasn't able to move my tank anymore (besides the turret) thoug it seems like it was still firering when I shot as I was still getting kills that way. Also other players in my screen didn't move anymore but I still got their kill messanges. "stop" didn't help either, most likely since the demo recording seems to not have started at all.
Demo bug is known, AFAIK only Valve can fix it. And they might have, in the Ep2 engine. Which Empires is not using yet.
I'm almost 100% positive since we had NF recap the flag and tried again a few times and allways it would have stoped at 90% (according to what my BE mates said in chat). Also the flag was under heavy HE artillery fire so I doubt there would have been any NF scout surviving nearby.
Having a NF at the flag will prevent you from capping the flag. Next time this happen I suggest you go scout with the detect ability to find that sneaky scout.
