Seriously Silk, this is pretty awesome. If you can shit out 2-3 small commander maps, that will do an amazing amount of good for the game.
The main problem is time. Apart from the joke map that started this topic, i have never finished a map in less than a year. My real small comm map is only half as big as my other maps but that still means about 6 months to finish just one. And yeah the joke map should work as well so it's a real map, it's just .... meh Also times: Arid - between 90 and 190 hours (i'm very bad at guessing hours spend) Bush - original version around 40 hours, all versions in total between 180 and 290 hours Chain - between 220 and 360 hours small_commadermap - so far around 40 hours emp_cod - exactly 258 minutes
They honestly only need to be as simple as emp_cod, even if you just start them out as alphas early on, provided it's playable. They're just really great to seed servers with.
Honestly I think the vet community is too unforgiving and asshole-ish for new players (I know I'm late to the punch here) but I was on viper alone a few days ago when some people from vinesauce joined and started playing and learning the game because they saw it on Moddb and it was probably one of the better games I've played in, simply because people weren't being complete dicks the entire time.

Only because i never finished emp_line ... i think, i can't remember clearly, i'm pretty sure i never put it online because i did actually fear it would ruin the game
