I was saying in the server, I don't know whether I like or hate this. On the one hand, it looks fucking retarded. On the other hand, it's still essentially coast, and it means that what is essentially coast, is getting voted in more, rather than rainbowshit and dickagons. There's also the fact that I think Steve is a bit of a cunt. So I'm not really sure what to make of this. Maybe if he hadn't put the stupid armour-jeeps in, it would be a bit more playable. But either way, it beats all the other shit maps that people would otherwise be voting.
steve_rox == steve [uk]? @Trickster: I hated playing the original coast because of the washed out colours and the shitty brightness and the missing chokepoints. The version eliminates all of that for me (missing chokepoints are fixed by subaru ramming incoming tanks)
The cars are a bit op. It would be enough for them to be spawns, look cool and be fast but they needn't be so tough too. I had to command this map the other night and it was sooo testing. Like the worst possible commander round I ever had to play, I mean I was mentally and spiritually drained afterwards. People filled the VF with jeeps trying to roll another Subaru, lolled around all game yet still complained like it was a scrim, only 2/3 players actually did anything remotely useful for any measurable duration. Even though we were ahead all game it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r to win and we kept conceding ground whilst everyone raced around the map mic spamming their childish laughter as if to taunt my attempts to create some kind of order. .......and it is 100 times better than Octogons and Rainbowroad. I would play this 10 times before playing Octogons again. As it goes I actually quite like the map to be honest. It is a fun/lighthearted map but atleast it still follows the formula.
If the stupid vehicles and moneyboxes were removed, I'd totally agree. I'd love this map as a way of tricking people into playing a serious map without them realising.
