Hi guys Having been away from the mod for about a year its nice to come back to some changes. 1.08 is looking really nice , I must say I like all of the changes made to models and weapons. I spent a few hours playing some of the new maps , on the whole im enjoying the new urban combat content. One map I must criticize im afraid is the CTF remake of Emp Canyon. We played this map for about 1 and a half hours last night and it was throughly boring! I like CTF maps once in a while , but i do feel that they need to be linear. I think this map would be suitable for league / clan games where the team members are organized , on a public server however the map takes forever to complete as people run round and round in circles capping / recapping the same flags over and over.
There will be changes made to it. I read something about ticket bleed and longer cap time. I doubt it'd work well being linear as it's not a very linear map at all. I would, however, suggest that when you capture all the flags that you win the map
what if you could only capture flags adjacent to the flag you are currently at, and even if you loose your home flag you can continue? kinda like my ring idea?
I love this map. I played today for ever but had one of my favorite Empires experiences of all time. However, makeing it shorter might be a good idea, ticket bleed would do the trick.
I am making some changes to this map to make it run more smoothly. Things going to be changed -Ticket bleed of 1 on each of those two middle flags -5 seconds to neutralize, 15 seconds to cap -fixing bad spawn points (in rocks, under world) -two far res points now pump res -far imp res point is now shielded by a wall (counter missile snipers) -remove misplaced res node at nf pass I don't want to change the cap point system as it gives ninja's something to do now that the comm is gone.
