EMP Artilirty

    How about artilirty with the sole purpose of disabling vehical/turret/building functions for a short period of time? It would do no dmg, but rather stop turrets firing (anti turret spam) , and things being built in the VF, and if it hits the command vehical the commander screen would go all fuzzy :)

    Just an idea, but id rather have an arty do this than a stupidly larger AoE
    type dmg :P Would also make artilirty a hell of alot more tactical. (emp then troops rush in fast and tear the base apart).

    nah im guessing this is some joke i dont get because emp weapons would be utterly useless

    Jeez I thought it was an idea for a map I was reading for ages.. emp arti.. It's too early for these kind of things.

    It doesn't need to be a whole new arty type, just a new shell type. Like we have High Explosive or Extended Range, this would be an EMP shell with high area of effect and long reload time. It would act like the scout's concussion grenade disabling turrets for a little while (10-15 sec), would cause all buildings to be disabled for 5-10 sec and instantly overheat all vehicles caught in the blast.

    ofc I like the idea of an emp weapon, but its just a waste of time, why not research HE that is for all tanks and actually kills the turrets and everything straight away oO

    it would work nice with teamwork, but why not have 2 HE artys instead? I dont see this working as a artillery weapon, at all. Maybe if its a 2 slot missile I could see it being fun to use, but that would just be plasma missile. That way the med and heavy tank could use it as self defence when facing tanks or turrets, but if you would have an arty backing you up im pretty sure HE would be a lot more effective.

    Besides I dont think boring the enemy to death is considered much fun

    it could work if normal arty was greatly weakened, but as they are now (or even with moderate nerfage) this would be under balanced.

    Well tbh id prefer if this replaced HE arty all together. Even i the great abuser
    of the HE arty know its totally over powered :) Be nice if HE arty was a
    building rather than a movable tank :P Like a Huge ass cannon set on a
    concrete base :P Look very cool with planes implemented. (Bombers trying to
    destroy the cannon while it wreaks havok on there base).

    Be nice if Empires had General selection like from Zero Hour. ^^

    If i was Artility General i would make lots of he turrents to shoot down teh rocketblimbs and flying wahles

    mmm. i think overheating vehicles is a bit far
    but using concusion grenades to stop turrets & building for a little while might be an effective weapon for the scout.
    i mean , everyone is going on about getting the scout TNT & stuff to take out buildings , this would make ninja'ing very easy and a little to attractive for my liking ,
    using scouts to stop buildings rather that destroying them sounds good to me.

    emp might be a good idea, but then again it sounds utterly useless.

    Emp for disabling? Why not just use HE to disable...and destroy...and kill all in one.

    People hate arty for the fact that...well...they hate shells raining on them. People need to quit whining and take shelter. The best thing to do is attack them close range...then...probem solved.

    When i attacked 5 arty's i thought i was going to take them all down, but they are defended by their pilots( engineers and grenadiers) and the engineers building walls, turrets, and the rest and killing at every distance with their smgs. I had a height advantage and the arties didn't see me.

    It isn't that easy on some maps especially crossroads and slaughtered.

    Also show me something better than double small arty. (pwnz heavy tanks and if you have group of it it can destroy everything)

    Double small arty OWNS. I almost won a game single handedly with a twin small arty tank. Against 5 people with both team out of tickets, and they had revive! So I technically killed 20 people!

    But yes, I forgot that aircraft will change it so we don't need to nerf anything atm.

    you can't just say

    "so what, arty is overpowered but if people use aircraft to combat them then it's ok for them to be like that."

    It won't be overpowered because it will be easy to kill. (You can't look around yourself nor shoot the tank killers)
