Ekranoplan This is a suggestion for when the Navy get impimented. being in the spirit of Empires where different technologies are present - i present to you the Russian Ekranoplan, a ground effect aircraft/boat thats pritty impressive. the know how: it floats on the water, then full power to engines and it lifts of the water, then 9/10 engines are turned off as it glides on the invisable wave of air ( known as ground effect ) interesting points, turning would be hard when not in the air, and so players would be moving all the time, providing fast paced action on the high seas ! so... what da ya think ?
Sorry Ill try to kep the technical details down to as little as possible.The Spruce Goose was a conventinal plain it just landed on water. It could fly up as high as any other plain at the time. This type of plain uses a cushen of air to reduce lag and fly. It could not fly very high effectively, but could carry tremendus loads. The largest of witch could carry two modern M1A1 Abrams. Remarkable considering it was desined in the 60s. Ok Ill go try and find a life now. But actualy this gives me an idea. how about a new topic about new and unusual techs for us by may be able to fit into empires....

I dont seem to remember a point to that Russian plane...which is why ot was never made on mass. Some cool techs tried in the past that I would love to see is the Airplane submarine and the submarine aircraft carrier. Empires: Navy could be a mod unto its self.
Interesting.. The way its described, I think it would be good late game, with the requirement of a few upgrades, but otherwise yeas. good idea i guess.
i thik we should have snowmobiles they can drive on water you know! (not kidding) all you have to do is pimp out the hl2 air boat with a new modle and new sounds and make it only work on snow and water then when you stop in water you sink! oh and that 'thing' looks like a pile of wank!... was that to harsh?... i dont know...
iv been on hydrofols before they are cool as! your going along sort of slow then you get this speed boost as the front tips up to allow the skis to the surface
