As a skill, scouts see the HP, class and possibly ammo of anyone within say, 100m, friendlies and enemies. Pros: Gives them scouting capability and improves the usage of scout rifle (picking off the weak targets) Better target prioritisation in combat. Cons: Lods of coed Mayb make the scout more powerful. Difficult to communicate what you know to allies. Classes are usually pretty easy to discern anyway (is he carrying a mortar, a rifle, an smg, a calculator etc) Alts: If you have enhanced senses it shows up through walls?
I like if it's a skill, and if that enhanced senses addition isn't added. Range should be long, but only if they're near your crosshair, with them needing to be closer to it the further away they are.
I like tricksters ide abest, although I've done some vector maths trying to make cones for detecting things with lua, and I had a lot of difficulty with it. I'm sure it's possible but I couldn't work it out.
Just do traces towards other players, check if distance is bigger than x, probably fuckloads cheaper than trying to make cones as well
I honestly cant disagree with that. They have awesome infantry combat, the only problems are their weapons are designed for close quarters combat. Even the long range weapons aren't that great at long range.
Are you seriously suggesting that the scout be made even mildly useful? You obviously haven't played the game enough to realise the scout exists to trap new players.
America 0 : 1 Europe I think it's quite long anyways, I'd make it waaay shorter. For SMG usage specifically. Or keep the range but make it only work for binocs.
Well can we get a conversion of 100m to HUs (hammer units) to see how this would work? I'm sure that the distance between the ... okay so 64 hammer units translates into roughly 1.2 meters. Keep in mind this only applies for the map grid, you can read about this here. Can we get a mapper to show us how long 100m in hammer would be with some screenies or something? Because if my assumption is correct then 100m is probably the distance between the CV spawns on rainbow road.
1HU = 1inch 100 meters = 3 937.00787 inches, thats quite something (i cant recall the rax size out of my head, 1200 pops up but it somehow sounds wrong when i think about hammer - im not at home so i cant check)
