When you (if on foot) or your tank's driver (if you are in a vehicle) has the defusal skill, and you have a mine detector, then the mine detector icon shows up as normal, as seen below: Spoiler mirror When you (if on foot) or your tank's driver (if you are in a vehicle) does not have the defusal skill, but you still have a mine detector, then the mine detector changes to a more provocative red color, which would looks something like this: Spoiler mirror Why do this? To avoid that moment of "wait, did I bring defusal" than can happen while approaching mines. Followed, in my case, by opening the skill menu while still moving forward. The tank(s) I've lost this way I chalk up to my own stupidity, but I feel this change will help people avoid that pitfall.
Smart idea, simple and might actually be doable even before a complete HUD overhaul. I'll look into it for you and find out.
Actually, it was paint.net. But thanks! Edit: Speaking of paint.net, I made a couple of versions of the mine warning: So do you guys prefer the black border or the white border?
Honestly, I have had no time this week. Reason is visible in the flag. Any time I get has been put into other HUD work which I've fucked up and needs redoing. What I know is I can change the default icon of a mine, I just need to find out if there are script files which can differentiate the two (has defusal/does not have defusal) to use different vtfs, and if not, what cider I can convince to help me do that
