Default Class Skills.

    I wanted to make a suggestion about coding default class skills so that when you choose a class, it assigns you a skill. Instead of having to select a skill, one would already be chosen. Ounin suggested a while back that there be a skill retention so that your skills would carry over from previous matches. If you chose to take that skill last round, you would not have to choose it the next, kind of like a vehicle loadout.

    my suggestion is more focused on starting new players out fresh and giving them an idea on which skills are the most versatile and useful.

    Before I make any kind of suggestion I'd like to know what skills you usually take for each class. I usually take these skills as a highly competitive player:
    MOST USED STARTING SKILL
    Engineer: repair
    Rifleman: health +30
    Grenadier: speed
    Scout: silencer
    scouts actually have no useful versatile skill. they are specialists by nature

    I like the skill retention idea better then having a default skill chosen by us.

    but if you cant stop, go on with your "omg u take <insert-skill-here> as first" n00b epeen comparison ;)

    I like brutos's idea which, in-turn, is my idea.

    EDIT:

    Engineer: revive
    Rifleman: accuracy
    Grenadier: speed
    Scout: enhanced senses

    ES is heavily underrated, but it's practically like wallhacks

    Armor detect as first skill? I usually know which side my first
    shell hit so I can finish the starting apc with the second one.

    Why are you still suggesting default skills, when I have basically said that this is a retarded idea and I am going to implement the better one?

    The skills should be preset the first time, then changed to whatever the player changes their skills to between rounds.

    as if you wouldnt have enough time to sort out your skills before round start. brutos suggestion is good - actually perfect - why should anyone be forced to play with settings YOU like? (and i assume if they would be like u wish there would be constant bitching from someone else)

    if it defaults, then it should be defaulting to the skill set i posted so noone is happy :rolleyes:
