The : ][CW][ : public server is now hosting cw_gorge_a1 The map, designed by : ][CW][ : AURIFICATIONALIST, is a night map that features a bridge with a capturable flag in the center. Both teams start with premade bases (2 barracks, 2 armories, 1 VF) and 1000 res. The only way to get res is to hold the center flag. When your team controls the center flag, you receive 4 res/second. : ][CW][ : Jcw87 made the minimap. Here is the download: cw_gorge_a1 A screenshot is attached. Other server admins should feel free to run this map as long as all files and filenames remain unaltered. EDIT: New version is up on the server. IMO its a little small to be used for normal games... but you can download it by connecting to the server (I made a working res file )
Money with 1 bridge. Sounds horrible! Single chokepoint = bad. Looks good though. :D AUR just needs to make a non-singlechokepoint map, and everything will be secksay! :D
This is different because: Arties are restricted Money is very scarce --Auri is adding ladders down to the river and back up the other side, so there will be additional ways into the enemy base
I played it this evening. It's surprisingly good for such a small map. It felt good with about 4v4 (imo), but it might not hold up so well with many more players. It's nice to have a different map now and then (stock map cycle is getting very boring for me D: ). The map reminded me of the sort of gameplay you get in NS combat maps, where you get into combat faster making a refreshing change from normal. Just my 2 res...

you know waht would be hot is to carve inf only passages and rooms into the rock face and have catwalks and inf bridges leading to the other side. Perhaps another res flag somewhere else too, one res flag would end things pretty quick. Kudos on night map, looks pretty cool.
There are inf-only tunnels in the forward walls that go all the way through and also lead up to the top of the hill. Good idea re: footbridges I think the ladders would safer for inf though.... if footbridges were at the same level as the main bridge the inf would just get shot.
Nope. What's it do? I'm not a mapper at all. Could you designate an area where engies can drop turrets?
i don't like emp_env_restrict. there's a building in streets of fire with that enabled and it just feels a bit weird, a bit unrealistic and the like.
Yeah I dont think I'd like it on the CW map. Engies only get 1 turret until 40 pts, so if they want to put it on the ladder to cover it, i think that is a good strategy. There is no comm on this map, so the only turrets come from engies. With 3 routes to cover, their turrets will be stretched thin. But I'm not the mapper, Aurificationalist is :-)
also if you cant build turrets just drop some mines at the top like I did when we all played together evan
