I tried some of the sound packs from the custom content post but unlike last time (Non-steam version), It didnt work. I was still stuck with the original sounds, Please help?
This has been annoying me too. Simply putting the sound folder in username/Empires or username/Empires/Empires doesn't work.
it would work if sv_pure is 0, usually but it seems that someone fucked up even that smithy got some probs testing his turret models, too i for myself havent tested it yet
Well, I didn't make one. But a parallax-mapped texture I made didn't work even in my local server, so I'd assume consistency is automatically being forced despite the sv_pure settings.
nah it should work normaly or at least it is intended that i should work but something is bugged at the moment with every all content
Try adding EmpiresCustom path to gameinfo.txt as 1st entry, make directory EmpiresCustom on the disk and put stuff there.

still doesnt work :/ my path is "username\empires\empires\sound\player\" wav files are correct, they worked fine before steampires.
Either (a) you've still got pure on (b) you're screwing up the folder structure (one too many /empires/?)
