   When I start empires the screen flickers black and then it fails to launch.
   
   I rebooted, and it's a fresh install.
   There's no error message.
   This sucks ass.

   I had this problem, but its probably different than yours.
   I set an invalid resolution. All I have to do was fix it in launch options

   add -autoconfig to start params, start then remove again
