Cool new visual effect

    I have had this problem several times, this usually happens when you highlight a player, or vehicle/building and clicking on the model, it could be when the server is busy and possibly lag related and doesn't render correctly.

    i have this bug in all source games from time to time. restarting the game fixes it for me.
