id say it should wordfilter the designation to the name of the player so when someone decides to call himself "qdfkdfnsdkjfdskjfhsdkfhsdkjfshdf" you can just say "hey #c4 build the refinery" and it would say "hey qdfkdfnsdkjfdskjfhsdkfhsdkjfshdf build the refinery"
Awesome idea. I can't stand messed up names that you can't prenonce. I don't find that a bad idea, infact it would stop me missing messages. I've never been one to stare at the chatbox, espcially when its a busy game.
I like having numbers under players on the minimap, however I don't want to miss the names in the VGUI, it would be pretty much leading to confusion because most ppl wouldn't know who you are refering to when talking about squadnumbers, "hey alpha 4 build the ref pls""Alpha 4 why don't you ..." .. "Oh I'm alpha 4 this time?" NO THANKS,
Mind to tell me the goal beside getting rid of weird names and a better overview on the minimap?
it would become a part of the language, much like how people use cardinal directions and coordinates and such. This wouldn't be too much of an issue between squad members, since they can translate squad number to names easily. It's about as much effort as looking up your squad leader's name to check what your number is.
This has no purpose. I will make a bug report based on the Squad list ingame doesn't match the squad list in the squad menu, and that the order of the squad is only correct on the squad menu.
I have four other guys in my squad and I can't identify who is where. There's some Charlie guy all the way in the city, one's ready for the ref, one guy dead someplace and another one with him who can't quite see that he's gotta revive his buddy and quite frankly I can't distinguish one from the other. If the squad roster had some means of letting me distinguish members of my squad from another. If I can say "Charlie-Two, regroup; Charlie-Three, get the ref; Charlie-Five, go revive Charlie-Four" while my squad is out of visual range, the minimap has done its job.
i like the idea but i'd like to suggest that only squadmembers should see those numbers of their own squad on the minimap because it already gets confusing with multiple squads and all their letters near their arrows if you'd see the letters AND numbers of EVERYONE it would nearly be the only thing you see: letters and numbers
naturally... although it would be best to allow for a random guy to adress that guy in charly thats having a dickish name by using C#[his number] i think squad related wordfilters would be a very nice addition to this game, cant see why trickster seems so against it
no word on this and it's been under consideration and squad movements are still largely incomprehensible
