Hey I just reinstalled windows on my laptop and I am missing a ton of drivers. Anyone know a program I can use to see what my graphics driver is, sound card, etc? I forget the name of the one I used to use but it used to give me the model number and everything with it.
this does it all and more an its free, called sandra from sisoft if link doesnt work. http://www.benchmarkhq.ru/english.html?/sandradl_e.html
ok, questionaire time. Manufacturer: Product Line: Model Number: just look on your laptop, should be printed somewhere on the bottom. give me that information and I'll do the grunt work for ya.
Heh I was able to find the information. Anyhow Killx, I use a Tangent laptop, so they have no service and support over the internet. It done through my university so I would have had to take it in and pay mega bucks to get it fixed. I was able to locate the drivers though and everything seems to be running fine.
Before you make jokes, consider if anyone will understand what you're talking about. I'm sure only RA got the Linux joke, cause he's all about the 'nix
and when someones asking for PC help, dont BS them. what if poor Goose didn't know it was a joke and fucked up his PC because of it? THINK OF THE LAPTOP!
Fresh Diagnose. Everest Home Edition. Free and nice. I prefer Everest more even Fresh Diagnose isn't bad either.
Bah! I'm not about nix. I develop in it right now...I want my VisualStudio back. I abhor Linux's lack of a proper debugger. Debugging in WinCE6 was heavenly compared to this. In Linux, printfs galore...no register access...no stepping into things. But I got the joke, but since I was a mute, I couldn't say much. LSPCI is linux only...for Windows, you're best off to find a version of SIS Sandra, as it is VERY good if you grab the latest version, and offers some tests. If you want to stress specific parts of your computer though... To stress the CPU, use Prime95, SuperPi (run as many calculations of PI as you have CPUs/cores) also Orthos To stress RAM, MemTest86 is second to none, if you get the 3.3 version and burn it to a CD and boot to it. Videocard, I'd recommend RTHDRIBL (Real Time High Dynamic Range Image Based Lighting) as that's free, easy to use, and stresses your card like not much else can.
