For the past few months the only servers with players on them have been the ONE Battleground server and the BSID servers. Both servers have anti-recruiting rules on them that seriously thwart 3rd party clan growth if one follows their rules. I'd like to ask special permission from both clans/communities to recruit on their servers. I realize (1) that you pay for your servers and have every right to not want other clans to recruit on them (2) that it would just be out of the goodness of your hearts. It's my hope that CW can become a clan JPL and BSID can scrim in the near future. However, recruitment is not currently possible. I know this "plea" should have been put on the ONE and BSID forums, but I wanted to open it up to entire community discussion. Thanks : ][CW][ : Evan
I guess you're right - I don't think I get your point. Please explain. I know the player base is not huge (that's why only two servers have ppl on them). But within the small player base, there is room for a few more clans.
Perhaps you should speak with some of the people from the clans that failed to get off their feet. And it might be a good idea to post this on the BSID and ON|E forums.
Hi Evan, You can can find my personal thinkings on the matter here: http://www.bsid-clan.com/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=188&view=findpost&p=1321 ...and as mentioned we'll get back to you soon.
I'm starting to feel like the only veteran Empires player not in a clan now that I see Grapehead (A.K.A: Dubee) and about 5 other forum members in JPL, all the BSID people and FB guys.
Well... You could always do what I used to do in GW. Join jr. clans and help them grow so they don't need you then poilitly leave. Makes clan grow faster and people love you!
My first clan activity was in Outwar.com (damn spyware) If anyone did that, they were called clan jumpers, loyalty is really important in outwar so yeah. edit: fuck
I don't see that as a bad thing; Everyone in JPL pretty much knows eachother; we have all been spamming the Empires forums for a while :D and it was only a matter of time until we all bonded together...
I made sure they knew I joined just to help them grow. As long as they know that and you help them grow... well new clan/guild. Corse I only did that for a short time... and that was after my Guild got... sad memory's...
Ah, outwar.com was probably a bad example lol. Pre-Round 12, it was alll about who had the most powerful and active people in thier clan, if they didn't like someone or want more powerful people, they would attack the clan they're in until they submit to their demands or disbands. Now in Round 12+, the clan leaders would ask for their e-mail/password so they can fight their wars by themselves, it's relatively safe since security passwords are on everything that could potential hurt you. So yeah, it's now just about getting the most powerful chars in their clan. Loyalty is important throughout outwar because everyone wants their clan to be the best and most fearsome, but even though it's impossible to monopolize outwar, they still want more and more powerful players. So if someone leaves, their clan power decreases and they go into bitchfit mode unless they went away for a good reason (help an allied clan/quit playing ect.)
hah that reminds me of when I found out that on halflife2.net im the only member under no. 25 that isnt an mod, banned or not active.
No, I'm sure there are plenty of Veterans who aren't in clans, I'm not at least. I'm sure there are lots of regulars who haven't joined this forum as well, who's names I will never know.
