Someone told me I was fucking stupid for getting lvl 2 turrets when we were winning pretty well, and had map control with low pop server. I told him to fuck off cause I'm the commander. My team cheered. How did you guys script / code out 50% of the douchebags?
now that they judge a commanders skill by research and building placement instead of spamming targets you mean?
I made customised APC's and AFV's for people yesterday. They were grateful  Made me happy, at least. I dun never get time to customise anything before.
I have more time to build up stuff near main base. Especially good placed turret farms rescued me many times. Beside of this I give single targets for buildings or scouts on hills. Sometimes I even warn tank drivers for incoming sticky grenades. Would be nice if the static targets could be given directly on units and buildings and not only near to them.
I've been A+ dragging and typing out directions for the combat. Info on how many units are left in structures or are repairing it etc. Whether a base has anyone at it or not. Repeatedly typing "get more refineries" over and over so that there is no way they could possibly miss it, and letting squad leaders lead the team in their objectives. In the end, I think that i was willing to be commander, and that I let the squad leaders lead the team made the difference in how they viewed me as commander. Now that coms can't spam shit on your screen as easily, it removes a great distraction from the com interaction, making the interaction much more enjoyable. I've always hated target spamming though tbh.
Some Natural selection servers have refinery(RT) counter: built by our team, built but not finished and total.
really? why? If I remember correctly they had res counters of a few types for a long time. Is ours just more efficient?
I still regularly try to give targets. I do miss though how target spam could quickly give you an idea of the number of buildings and enemies in an area. Now, I have to zoom the minimap in and out, which is a bit tedious.
Actually I was talking to someone the other day and they were saying how surprised they were at targets being removed. The issue they had was not with infantry, but surprisingly with vehicles and buildings which was removed before. I think the dude had a very good point, there's no reason why those shouldn't be able to be marked. Afterall, a building doesn't go anywhere.
