The problem i find with being a comm is that i can never tell who is best suited for what job because i cannot tell what weapon they have got. What i propose is that when u select a 1 or a number of people is that in the rectangle that shows how many people u have chosen, insted of a picture it holds their name, class and what main weapon and grenade they have chosen. For example you do not want a person with a HMG to charge u want them to stay back. This would benifit the game a lot and will be much easyer to organise troops . The secound idea is that as well as being able to mark multiple targets, the comm has the ability to mark an area of where they want the person to lay down fire and focaus on the most. For example if on crossroads you have a HMG avlible u tell him u want him to lay down suppresive fire on that wall while the rest of the team charge up. The person will see the area on the screen as red (like when the comm is marking targets) Pros: Both will take little codeing Will further make comming more tactical Easyer to organise troops Half Cons: if their is a spam comm then he could mess up the peoples hud by drawing red all over the map. (but if u have a spam comm ur buggered anyway)
good idea about the name, class and weapon. Should also show the skills they have. Dont like the 2nd idea though.
aye same criticism as pete, i think noobs would feel that this red square is just another target, and camp it ALL day
I was thinking of suppresive fire being a squad skill or something but couldnt think what it would do
Suppresive fire already exist! IF enemy is clever: He doesn't move out of suppresive fire IF enemy is dumb: He moves out of suppresive fire and gets killed.
I know that but i when i think of it now it could be a squad skill where: Skill Name: Suppresive fire Lasts: 10sec Cost: alot of squad points (just a random number cus ive never used squad points) What it does: Increses acuracy for all squad members by 20%, Increses Dmg for all squad members by 15%. HMG's get an increse acuracy of 25%. This would be quite a good skill if ur team is pushing forward heavyaly :D:D
but you have to decide what class it goes into if its a skill. surely it would be rifleman. But then theres the issue of "why does rifleman get an extra squad power and others dont?"
Suppressive fire doesn't really mean better accuracy. What about having bullets smashing around near you reduces your weapon stats, but increases speed, gives a slight damage resistance (adrenaline rush)
