THANK YOU. lol THANK YOU. I've been wondering that myself. I come into a game and i see two sides battling it out.. and depending on the length of the game you can pretty much see who will win. I think the clock will make it easier for people to stack the winning team ^_^.
Except the obvious "You already have one IRL" I see no reason not to have one. Just have it clientside and there should be not pressure on the server.
guys i think you dont get it right this clock inst supposed to show the time in your timezone its supposed to show the amount of minutes a map is already running
I do get that. But you can still look at your clock at the start of the game and then look at it again and see how much time it went past the start and the time you're looking now
Make a server plugin for SM? This is such an edge case, I really don't want to further clutter the gui with useless information.
i think it doesnt matter how you realize it eitherway its just a neat feature we COULD have and dont necessarily need
you could put it ontop the scoreboard without being in the way ... anyway, i fail to see the practical use either, but it shouldnt be that much work for you - or would it?
Isn't there something like this in the orange box engine already? I thought I once looked on a time showing how long a map on tf2 was played already
Not that hard, save currtime on map beginning, diff the saved time with the current time and print it as hours, minutes and seconds. Its really easy, but I honestly do not see the point in this. Scoreboard maybe, dunno.
"We don't need it" sorry but that's not true. Have you ever played any strategic game at all? the clock helps. Also it doesn't have to be for everyone actually it would be needed for the commander. So I dont care how you do that but trust me it would help.
I rarely watch the clock in strategy games well my favorite is warzone2100 and watching a clock would just be counterproductive there....
would help to give the clock to everyone and have it run on the same time so you can give objectives.. i want blah blah blah before X minutes etc
just put it ontop the scoreboard. even if it might be useless ingame, it still would be interesting how long rounds lasted ...
as i think of it i believe the plain steam serverinfo window has such a timer and to the "we need it thing": the only one who would need it by any chance is the commander so you could put it in the commander HUD only every other player would only use it to decide which side to join when he joins midgame or in the very seldom case when a more experienced comm is helping a newer one even in that case you could make it optional for the normal players
