Capture the parts map

    Ok this idea is based around the old fashioned CTF mods , such as Quake 2 CTF.

    As many of you will remember CTF on q2 envolved going to an enemys base and nicking there flag , u then have to run back to your own base to capture it.

    So my idea is thus :

    The objective of the map is to build some kind of mega rocket rocket go bang boom destructive device , such as a nuke silo or big cannon or somthing like that.

    The map layout is linear , similar to that of escort or district.

    To complete the objective the destructive device must be built from parts placed around the map (instead of flags). There is only 1 type of each part and if the other team gets it you have to go and get it back from them.

    The only class able to collect the parts and build the device is the engineer. The engineer cannot perform any other tasks , this includes :

    Shooting
    Building turrets or anything like that
    Healing
    Dropping ammo
    Rezzing

    So basically the map is about teams of infantry escorting engineers to collect the parts. And stealing parts from the oppositions base. Im thinking to make it a bit easier to steal stuff the spawn shouldnt be in the same place as the parts are kept.

    Anyway the game ends when one team manages to build the big gun bomb nuke thing and blows the ever loving douchebags out of the other team.

    I like it, but what about if you were in a kind of war torn city, and the items were randomly placed, and you would have to get a truck to bring the stuff back, BUT the truck is slow, so people have to defend their outposts w/o turrets.


    And what is a douchebag?

    Oh, and very good idea, sounds really fun, especially the (no turrent=no turrent farms!)

    Well imagine the parts are flags , except you have to take the flags back to an area to use them.

    CTF and TFC maps are never as linear as district and escort

    I dont think it would work, I wuoldnt want to see CTF either tbh, Im a big fan of CTF but imho this game should focus on the 2 gamemodes they have already.

    Come on, I think healing from the engineer is acceptable.

    anything is better then boring flag capturing. atleast give it a disguise like this.

    a douchebag is a rubber bladder used to be filled with vinegar water to clean a girls vagina out. doesn't seem as funny now that I said that out loud.

    yea i wikied it earlier but thanks anyway. Also a map where you could steal opponant's 'Parts' could be really good. Adding that to a 'truck' that carries all your parts, and using the res node areas on maps like duststorm would be really cool.

    Any unit could 'drag' it, but that would slow them down considirably
