I've followed this guide: http://wiki.empiresmod.com/index.php?title=Configuring_Hammer_for_Empires But the empires specific entities doesn't show up in hammer, even as I've downloaded the new cfg. Any help? Emp-Textures and models still work.
Yepps. I've had this problem a long time but it's now I that I got an idea for emp that I wanted to fix it.
That would be the fgd. The version for 2.24 was accidentally left out of the installer, so you can get it here.
I was given that one from Con7con (can't download it from that page due flash doing nutty nutty things with it).. So it SHOULD work, the wiki (except for the pictures located here: http://wiki.empiresmod.com/index.php?title=Configuring_Hammer_for_Empires is up to date right?
When I first reinstalled the SDK it couldn't even find empires... so I used someone elses game config file here: http://forums.empiresmod.com/showthread.php?t=7521&page=2&highlight=editor%2Fwireframe (Look at posts 11 , 15 + 19) This contains all the correct settings (hammer worked instantly for me anyway) (remember to change the file locations to reflect your own steam name. As for the fgd - instead of clicking the link (http://raegquit.com/coffeeburrito/empires.fgd right-click and save-target-as to your desktop then rename it to .fgd - it then works properly (I think). But you probably dont need it as it probably already at the locations in the links above.
.. Should work? Only thing I can think of is how when I press options it shows Half-Life 2: Episode Two (I can still change to the Empires one).
Which entities aren't working? I've had issues with the emp_info_player_imp not having the proper variables attributed to it unless I make an emp_info_player_nf first, and then changing it to player_imp. It happens sometimes, other times doesn't, kinda weird.
Every one beginning with emp. I've also copied some of the barracks and such from previous maps, they work in compile, but in hammer all I see is that grinning face (dummy).
Try renaming your game to "empires" or "Empires" also, your game executable location on the left doesn't match the one on the right. One is set for half life 2 deathmatch\hl2 and the other is sourcesdk base 2007. $SteamUserDir\source sdk base 2007\hl2.exe that is the correct one.
I think I know the answer now.. Everytime I loaded the Empires 2.24 up, and checked options it was at Half-Life 2: Episode Two But if I loaded Battlegrounds 2 up, and checked options, it was stuck on Battlegrounds 2. So I opened Half-Life 2: Episode Two in options and made it into Empires. It worked. Don't know why the hell it all went woooooo but.. Yeah.
