I was thinking about all this talk of campain maps and suddnly I thorght how the whole thing could work:D For the campain there would be 3 or 4 maps in a row where you have the same comm and same team though out the maps (you can still kick comm if he/she is crap and you can swap mid game if need be). You would play it normal exsept you would unlock reacherch before the start of the game with 'Tec Points'. At the first map you would start of with a certen amount of points (not enough for rails or nukes of course) and it would cost for example say 3 tec points to go for Mec Engineering the 3 more to go for Advanced Machining and then 5 or 6 points for Comp armour (this is an example but you get what i mean and things like nukes and rails...etc would cost a hell of alot of tec points for obiovs reasons.) Also the when the comm is spending points the team can give input and see what he is going for but wether the comm listens is up to him/her/it. The winning team would get more points than the loseing team (I think or other way round for balance issues:eek: ). Pros: New game type yay Would add new aspect to the game Haveing same comm could be good training for comms Would let new comms get a feel for the reacherch system Cons: Noob or Greaifer comm could spend points on random things and would render the team ussless (but isnt it like that in a normal game if u have a noob or greifer comm?) MORE CODING!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Balance issues Altenative and solutions to cons: Make the maual acsesable from game on main screen and also the reacerch tree. Discuss how could be balanced (which were doing now :D ) So what do u think?
I forgot to add to get this to work this is why it needs to be made more fun to be comm like with the missle silos its said the comm will launch the missles not the team. The comm needs way more powers, I think the desiners need to play lots of RTS's and find out what makes it so fun to be comm.
I don't think pubs are organized enough for this campaign style thing. Which makes it a waste of time to code just for Team matches.
