could they be differentiated a little more clearly please ?

nothing fancy modelling wise, even just a texture on the side or something, as long as they are clearly different at first glance.

at the moment i have to get in one to tell them apart and that can cause some problems.

for example, you make what would normally be a suicidal rush across a battlefield to get into the apc and tool up again only to find its an afv and now that you have left your cover, you arent going to get back to it.

i can think of more situations but then im sure you can as well and cba to read all my shit. cant think of any balance issues.

this wil probably fall to you donmegel, what say thee ?

Press enter before looking. If there's a spawn point there, it's an APC. If not, AFV. Also look at the size and whether it has wheels or treads.

it would give it more variety anyway, i dont want to have to go through some convoluted identification process just to recognise my own teams vehicle when a logo or something on it would make it instantly obvious. or even just something taken off it.

yes you can tell them apart but in the heat of battle you need to be able to do it more quickly.

The APC has wheels under it's back, the AFV has tracks.

Although I would like a little more to differentiate it, there are a couple differences between the AFV and the APC:

Yeah, I was releaved when I saw what I thought was an APC roll up behind me, I got in, switched seats, got up to get a drink. I came back, got out expecting a nice and full health bar and a fresh clip to load into my weapons, but nuttin' I cursed to my self and started a retreat... Some lucky Engie hit me with one bullet and I died :(

I can't really think of a way to change them though. Maybe replace the 'cannon' on the APC's turret with a smaller Machinegun barrel that looks like the MG turret only the dark BE Blue and not the tinted white that the AFV has for the cannon. Maybe add some kind of upward angled barrels for the Grenade Launcher(s).

Let's paint the apc neon green, red, blue, yellow, and purple with flashy red lights on top, put the village people in the back to dance while permanently singing the YMCA song, and instead of a fancy maching gun, make it a giant tube that shoots custard...........................

maybe give the APC a large antenna on its back (a "rope" like sprite shoud do)
they have it in rl to (APC is used somtimes in combat as a "mobile small command base with wheels, therefor it coud use a large range radio and its antenna)

then if you are infantry you can see from afar if it has an antenna its APC
    if not... run!

Oh my god Jn.... that is THE BEST FREAKING IDEA SINCE MY SUGGESTION TO MAKE THE JEEPS RESEMBLE THE DUKES OF HAZZARD. I'm dead serious, that's fucking hilarious. And awesome. Although maybe instead of the Village People, Journey singing that one song. "She's just a small town giiiiiiiiiiirl, living in a small town woooooooorld!!!"

no visual suggestions, but the NF APC is far too inferior when compared to the brenodi APC. Not just because it can carry 100 less weight, but mostly because no one can fire while mounted in the extra seats.

can we make the NF APC still inferior but not THAT inferior? or perhaps different but not equal?

I like the Journey idea wahoo! OMG I can see it now. "I need pickup!!!!" Journey song begins to fade in from the distance. A colorful shape slightly appears on the horizon, as you anxiously wait knowing the enemy is only meters away. The vehicle comes in to plain view, but you are too busy giving yourself covering fire to look. You can clearly hear the words "She's just a small town girl, livin in a lonely world" clear as day, and you wonder what the hell it is. A few seconds later, you hear a home decorator's voice. The one from the show on TLC or some shit. You dart around expecting a quick escape only to be stopped in your tracks, mouth wide open, gun dropped on the ground, in the presence of a massive, rainbow colored, flashing APC. All you can muster is a stare of disbelief in to the eyes of the dancing driver. "Hey cutie! Hope on in?" Says the driver as he bobs up and down to the tune of Journey. The enemy streaks past the rocks behind you, only to also behold themselves in the midst of this hulking scrap of lovliness. They look down at you, and see you in your state of shock. They slowly turn around and walk away, agreeing to never mention this to anyone, not even COMM. You then turn around and run towards your enemy, pleading for them to help you. You then hear the driver's voice say "Fine, have it your way sweet cheeks! Come on Dan, let's go get a Margarita!" The enemy then agrees to take you back to their barracks, and give you 10 hours of r and r with lots of lesbian porn.

THE UBER APC'S WOULD CREATE PEACE!!!!! KRENZO I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION TO THE BRENODI AND JEKOTIAN'S PROBLEMS!!!! THE OTHER FACTION WOULD FEEL SO SORRY FOR THE ONE WITH THE UBER APC'S, THAT THEY WOULD BEFRIEND ONE ANOTHER!!!! YAY!!!

At some stage, the armor "wings" on the AFV will be deployable (pop out so they're 90 degrees to the AFV) for infantry cover/shielding.
