Bio "Aura" Visual

I have an objection.

Those aren't particles, those are textures. Particles are stored in .pcf files.

 

Radiation ticks can be heard while bio'd.

 

Well that's Empty's domain. I got no clue how the particle system works.

 

It takes like 10 minutes looking at examples to get the idea. Its actaully pretty easy to tweak.
I feel pain knowing everyone else plays with plebian green bio effect.

 

Well do it yourself then. I already got enough on my plate with the models.

 

Indeed it is fairly easy to understand and make/edit some effects.

 

Ive already edited all of emptys particles to suit my own needs, though i dont see why would i have to do anythign whatsoever since candles said that whatever was being discussed is not particles.

 

The images are there in .vtf format as far as I know. Candles just wants to have .pcf particle file. Since you said this isn't too hard to do and you already did this before, you could just easily set this up.

 

The problem is its fucking hard to get some sense of scale for the particles without seeing them in game and tweaking. I could put in some arbritrary values and its more than likely it would end up looking stupid.

 

Trial and error...

 

Yeah kinda hard to do that if you can get no feeback or it would make the game look retarded for two weeks.

 

Get some people to test. I'll offer myself for that.

 

Bro, we had a game that wouldn't start properly for months. I think we can deal with some derpy particles for a few weeks.

 

Thats not really what im getting at, I could asses stuff myself.

Thing is, from what was said, I think youd need candles to dabble in code for it to work first, so Id have to wait to see any results for the next update , then have some time to tweak it on my own and it would probably get fixed for the next update. As opposed to osme,I do care about not shitting up the game too much, though i guess bio is not abused as much lately which is a plus.
