Based on Warhammer 40k?

Does this mod happen to be based on the Warhammer 40k world. More specifically the Imperial Gaurd? Cause i have noticed some simularities in vehicals and models. I find it sweet though and am pumped to play it soon.

No, it's not. I've played the Dawn of War RTS and read some of the background behind the world. There's no crazy immortal emperor in Empires or anything else from Warhammer.

Are there any long term goals in the storyline that might affect the gameplay? Or, for that matter, long term goals in gameplay (such as the addition of the Navy) that might affect the story? Hell, what are some long term goals of empires? This is something that clearly wouldn't be happening right now, more like IF (and this is a big, far off, hypothetical IF) Empires got picked up by Valve or whoever picks up mods.

What I mean by this is: are you thinking about another race that that might become another faction in the game, such as (while we're on 40k) some sort of Chaos Marine or Ork, or Natural Selection-esque alien species? Or something else altogether that doesnt relate to factions or new branches of the army?

 

There aren't any plans to add other races. The story is pretty much just focused on this long struggle between the two ethnic groups.

Although Warhammer 40k is the shit, I can't see the relation. >;S

 

NF med/heavy and the leman russ would be the most immediate similarity. That's where the similarites end imo though.

 

You havent noticed the subliminal messages? Every few minutes i swear I can hear:

And those don't have any resemblance to WW1 tanks at all.

 

the NF arty tank sorta looks like one, just with a big f off cannon on the back of it. anyway it seems to me like its a pretty obvious play on the battles between the nazis and communist russia. the empires mg turret looks alot like an mg 42, their helmets bear a huge resemblence to nazi uniform, the arty tank loos alot like one of those stug/stig whatever theyre called heavy tanks and their logo is alot like the iron cross of bravery etc

 

Dawn of war especialy is hilarius to play online imho, great game
But apart from the hole thing with a faction named "brenodi empire" there really aren't that mutch similaritys betwen the two imho, nothing that you really can draw anny clere line to annyways

Any similarities between other games either past or present is purly coincidental.

The NF tanks are based off of WW2, and so are the Imperial guards. That is the only similarity I see.
