    It won't render properly

How it happened: I was fixing my res to 1024x768. My graphics card didn't like it cause whenever i exited empires, my screen will get fucked up. Then it will go back to normal. But then the refresh rate goes waaay down. and i have to reboot the computer

When i was gaming with 1024, the buildings were rendered funky too. like the above pic. No floor, no props.

Then i switched back to 800x600. THe problem still exists.

I tried restarting my computer and restarting steam. Nothing works.

Are you running anything but high settings? I can remember which specific option affects this but I know anything other than high doesn't work.

    I set textures at high.

Lemme see if it fixes the problem.

    *goes back to empires*

    My problem got fixed

I read your suggestion wrong. I thought you meant, if you set an option on high it'll mess it up.

I had models on low detail, so it had no details.

last I checked you can get away with medium settings on model and textures.

That's one of the LOD models, if I'm not mistaken. It's the model detail that affects this. If you see these models at close when model detail is set to high the engine is probably calculating the distance to the model wrong. :)

Yeah I run on medium settings and everything is fine. I tried low once and tada! This exact thing happened. Fortunately I knew what it was.
