Long time lurker and player, first time poster. Most of you probably know me already :^D Anyway, pretty straightforward suggestion. With an APC, health and ammo recharge automatically, allowing the player to look around or relax their index finger from the "e" key. With an Armory, we have to sit around pulling ammo from crates, which is just kinda boring. Adding this suggestion would simply make using the armory quicker and less a hassle for players. I believe the code is also relatively simple to implement, as the APC already uses a similar function. I don't think there are any straight up "cons," but I can forsee some people disagreeing with implementation. Right now somone sitting in an armory cannot restock ammo and fight. This suggestion might turn armories into "bunkers" from which inf can fight with not only decent cover, but a constant source of health and ammo. A simple solution to this "problem" would be to prevent the recharge during "attack mode." I'm not sure this is so easy to do. Another "con" is that some people might like using crates. Solution: Get over it? :^) Any other possible negative side effects? Discuss!
I don't care actually. But can be annoying to only have one Ammo and one Health crate per Armory. Should be 2 of each .. less blocking.
maybe make the healing load automaticly but the ammo need to be picked up then the healing crate can be an ammo crate cous ammo neds to be picked up!
I would suggest it be the opposite if there was a "half" change - health needs to be picked up, but ammo recharged on its own. This is another way to combat the "bunker" issue -Matt
i think the auto ammo load is a good idea , but auto health would make u invunerable whilst in the armory.
when you are attacking or being attacked your health won't recharge for a set amount of time, this would solve that.
10 seconds is too long, it shouldnt take me a full 30 seconds to recharge 75% of my health. Just make it the same rate as you recharge when stood at a normal crate and you will still be quite capable of being killed. Try it next time you are on escort or district, sit and recharge at a health crate when the enemy are advancing. trust me, you will die quick.
I like the idea where the ammo recharges but the health doesn't. By definition an armory is a place to store weapon and ammo, so basically there should be ammo and weapons lining the walls that you can grab. As for the healing sure if you stand in one place and heal you die quick, but we're talking about healing from just standing inside the armory. You can dodge around and shoot back while still healing all the time against an enemy that can't.
